Irish landscape fine art card | Castlerock | Polly Gribben
Castlerock is a stunning beach nestled between the lower Bann estuary (known as the Barmouth) and the cliffs of Downhill. I painted this scene on a day when the dark clouds were rolling over but the light was flashing on the sands and cliff tops. Its a stunning walk and when the tides are out you can make your way round to Downhill beach. You can't see Mussenden temple from this angle but you can just about make out the caravans perched on the cliffs - what a fabulous view they must have!
